This blog has been developed by volunteers of Samoshel to honor the shelter's guests. They have inspired us with their strength, resilience, and courage. With this blog we hope to honor them in some small way and provide a forum for their voices to be heard.

** Samoshel opened in 1994 to give homeless men and women an alternative to living on the streets and to help them obtain jobs and permanent housing. Volunteers have designed "empowerment workshops" to assist the shelter guests with esteem building and life skills - areas the guests collectively chose to work on.
